My tastebud was simple. Then. My romance with food came to life one sunny day when Lolong Veleasquez, a schoolmate in college invited us for his birthday near the Sto. Nino church in Tacloban. My five senses were awakened. The food was served Mexican style. Stir fried rice with choices of shrimps, beef bits, corn, the works.
From then on, my palate has never been the same again. As i was discovering new things from the 'usual' food that i was eating growing up in a remote place in the countryside, I embarked on a new gastronomical journey. From the avant garde to the mundane. From hotel buffet offerings to turo-turo style. Sometimes eating something that I can't even pronounce & not knowing what it's made of.
A culinary experience none other. I have been blessed with different tastes from my travels and creating something good from scratch. My own recipes, I cannot replicate. Every kitchen duty is a different experience.
A dream come true for somebody who's been fed with the local fare while treading my journey in life. and so, inspired by all that i have tasted and feasted, i have been making some cooking and baking for quite some time.
After all, it's with good food that you enjoy the little things with the ones that you love.
